10 tons of waste stopped at the Romanian border

The Bihor border guards carried out an inspection on a vehicle consisting of a tractor and a semi-trailer, driven by a 34-year-old Romanian citizen. According to the documents accompanying the goods, he was transporting various used tires from a German company to a Romanian company.

As there were suspicions regarding the legality of the transport in question, the border police officers requested authorized support from the representatives of the Bihor County Commissariat within the National Environmental Guard.

Following the verifications, it was found that the truck was loaded with 10,500 kilograms of waste consisting of used tires, for which the driver did not present the necessary documentation required by law for the import of these products.

Consequently, the control authorities did not allow access to the territory of Romania for this means of transport, the waste being returned to the shipping company.
