Two families from Syria and Afghanistan, detected on the Danube bank by the border police from Moldova Veche

On the Romanian bank of the Danube, near Coronini, Border Police intercepted eight foreigners, including two minors, who could not justify their presence in the area. 

Immediately, the persons in question were taken to the Moldova Nouă City Hospital where their epidemiological triage was performed and then to the sector headquarters for verifications.

During the investigation, the border police established that the people in question were two families from Syria and Afghanistan, the family from Syria being made up of a mother, a father and two girls aged 1 year and 9 years, and the family from Afghanistan from a mother of 60 years and three boys aged between 20 and 24 years. Foreign citizens said they illegally crossed the border into Romania with an inflatable boat, with the intention of reaching Western Europe.
