107 Migrants Caught Crossing the Belarusian Border

Last Thursday, the border guards detained 107 migrants from Belarus who crossed the border illegally, according to preliminary data.

The largest group of illegal offenders, which included 43 foreigners, was detained on Thursday by the border guards of Gintaras Žagunis firewall near the village of Šilinė in Šalčininkai district. Migrants did not have documents. 42 of them introduced themselves as Iraqi citizens, one as a Syrian citizen.

Of all 107 foreigners arrested on Thursday, 81 introduced themselves as Iraqi citizens or had documents from that country, 10 from Syria and 6 from Iran.
