192 kilograms of tobacco seized by Bosnia and Herzegovina Border Police

Members of Border Police Unit Dobrljin seized 192 kilograms of cut tobacco without excise stamps. Namely, the illegal trade in tobacco was prevented in Blagaj in the area of Novi Grad, where members of this Unit discovered two BiH citizens in the transhipment of tobacco from an Audi vehicle to a Passat vehicle of BiH license plates. They are G.B. (born in 1985), who was driving the Audi, and A.M. (born in 1959) who was driving the Passat.

The Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Preliminary Procedure Judge of the Court of BiH were informed about the event, following whose orders the vehicle was searched. On the grounds for suspicion that the criminal offence of ‘Illicit trade in excise goods’ was committed, a report will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH against G.B. and A.M.

Tobacco, whose market value is estimated at close to BAM 40 000, was temporarily seized, as well as other evidence.
