25 migrants discovered by border police officers from PTF Borș and PTF Vărşand

Romanian Border guards at the Borș and Vărşand Border Crossing Points discovered 25 Afghan and Iraqi citizens, hidden in two lorries, trying to cross the border illegally.

On 29.05 at the Vărşand Border Crossing Point, two Romanian citizens showed up for the border formalities, on the way out of the country. They were transporting furniture for a French company with a car dealership registered in Romania.

Following a thorough inspection of the means of transport, the border guards discovered thirteen foreign nationals in the cargo compartment.

Preliminary checks have established that people are Iraqi citizens between the ages of 19 and 25.
On the same date, at the Borș Border Crossing Point, a Turkish citizen showed up for the border formalities, on the way out of the country, as the driver of a lorry registered in Turkey. The man was carrying textiles and rolls of paper on the Turkey-Finland route.

Following a thorough inspection of the means of transport, border guards discovered twelve Afghan citizens between the ages of 5 and 28.

In both cases, the border guards carry out investigations in order to establish the entire criminal activity, and the necessary legal measures will be ordered upon completion.
