26 tons of hashish seized in Granada inside a truck

Five people have been arrested in Spain as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking crimes and an attack on the authorities, as well as two others in France

Agents of the National Police, thanks to close collaboration with OFAST in France and DGSM in Morocco, have intervened 26 tons of hashish in Granada inside a truck.

Five people have been arrested in Spain as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking crimes and an attack on the authorities, as well as two others in France. During the intervention, the agents were surrounded by several vehicles to the point of being hit and violently rammed with the intention of driving them off the road.

The operation began at the beginning of this month of September after receiving a statement from France indicating that one of the now detained was going to embark with the seized truck in the port of Tanger-Med bound for Algeciras. Therefore, a control and monitoring device was established upon arrival in our country.

After passing the various controls at the border post, the truck parked at the terminal waiting to obtain the necessary documentation, later starting the march to the Cadiz municipality of Los Barrios where it had a technical fault. During the time he was there, he maintained contact with two people who came aboard a van and then climbed into the cab of the truck together. After resuming the march, the car was supported by a member of the organization who was driving a high-end vehicle in order to control it and detect the police presence. 

The operation remains open and it is expected to carry out new arrests and searches both in France and in Spain

During the journey to the province of Granada, those investigated adopted great security measures at all times. Upon arrival at an industrial estate in the town of Atarfe, he accessed a warehouse. Then, the surveillance device established in the area was detected by the drug traffickers. Several vehicles surrounded the policemen, whom they tried to block the way, starting a chase which was joined by another police signal who was violently attacked to try to get him off the road.

Finally, three people aboard a van, one of them identified as the truck driver, were arrested in the vicinity of the ship. In addition, two other men who were hidden in the tractor cab of the trailer inside the ship were arrested. A large quantity of hashish bales with a total weight of 26 tons were found in the vehicle search.
