275,000 Euro Seizure of Marijuana

About 44 kilograms of suspected marijuana material with a market value of more than HUF 100 million was found by the staff of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) during an inspection in Röszke.

The finance guards checked a Serbian car in Röszke. The driver did not declare goods subject to customs and tax.

NAV staff accepted the statement, but decided on an itemized investigation due to the driver’s nervous behavior. Finance guards found traces of remodeling on the vehicle chassis and rear row of seats. During the session, covered with a textile rug, nearly 44 kilograms of plant debris were found in 46 packages, to which the marijuana test responded positively.

The financial guards handed over the drug suspect and the driver worth more than 275,000 to the police with a report.
