The border guards from the Nădlac II and Vărşand – Arad County Border Crossing Points found twenty-eight citizens from Afghanistan, Turkey and Syria, who tried to cross the border illegally in Hungary, hidden in car parks and on foot.

Following the thorough control of the means of transport, five foreign nationals were discovered hidden in the cargo compartment .

The people were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following the checks, the border police established that the group consists of two adults and three minors, aged between 14 and 27, all citizens of Afghanistan, applicants for asylum. They said they got into the car park while stopped in a parking lot without the driver’s knowledge.

Soon, at the same border crossing point, border guards carried out detailed checks on two roadblocks driven by a Bulgarian and a Turkish citizen carrying hydraulic pipes and car parts for companies in Germany and France. Our workers checked the means of transport and discovered ten foreign nationals inside the cargo compartment During the preliminary checks, the border guards determined that they were citizens of Afghanistan, aged between 16 and 61 years.

 Yesterday, 27.02.2021, around 12.00, the border policemen from the Vărşand Border Crossing Point discovered hidden, in the cargo compartment of a road complex transporting chipboard, on the Romania – Poland route, six people .

Soon, border guards determined that they were from Afghanistan and Syria, aged between 11 and 30.

Also yesterday, around 22:00, the border policemen from the Vărşand Border Police Sector observed, with the help of the special vehicle with night vision, at about 100 meters from the border line, five people who were walking. . As they did not justify their presence in the area, they were taken to the headquarters of the point to carry out the checks. Research has shown that they are citizens of Turkey, aged between 20 and 65.

A similar action took place this weekend at the Girişu de Criş Border Police Sector , where the border police found, during the execution of specific missions, near the border line, two foreign nationals traveling on foot with intention to cross the border illegally into Hungary. The research established that they are citizens of Syria, aged between 26 and 33 years.

In all cases, the border guards carry out investigations in order to establish the entire criminal activity, and the necessary legal measures will be ordered upon completion.
