29 foreign nationals hidden in trucks, detected by the Romanian border police

Two Turkish citizens showed up for the border formalities on their way out of the country, both driving trucks registered in Turkey and the Netherlands. According to the documents accompanying the goods, the drivers were transporting furniture and metal products to companies in the Netherlands.

Based on the risk analysis, the border guards carried out a thorough control of the two means of transport. A total of twenty-nine foreign nationals were found hidden in the cargo compartment, respectively in the storage boxes on the sides of the semi-trailer .

The persons were taken and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following the verifications, the border guards established that they are citizens of different states (Syria, Turkey, India, Bangladesh, Guinea, Congo, Yemen, Eritrea, Somalia), aged between 18 and 40 years old.
