30 foreign nationals, detected by Romanian border police

Border Police at the Gîrla Mare crossing took action preventing and combating illegal migration. In the Izvoare locality, near the river km 854, a group of thirty foreign citizens was discovered.

Immediately, the persons in question were taken to the headquarters of the sector for verifications, where the epidemiological triage was performed by the medical crew who arrived on the spot.

During the first checks, the border guards determined that the people in question were citizens of Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, twenty-seven adults, aged between 18 and 47 and three minors, aged between 3 and 15. .

Also in the investigation, foreign nationals said they crossed the border into Serbia in a motor boat driven by two Syrian citizens who returned to Serbia and paid between 1,200 and 1,500. euros per person. At the same time, they also stated that they resorted to this method, with the intention of reaching their relatives in Western European countries.
