33 citizens from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, detected by Romanian border guards

Border guards at the Nadlac II Border Crossing Point found twenty-eight Syrian and Iraqi citizens hiding in a metal minibus trying to cross the border into Hungary illegally with the help of a Turkish driver. Five other Afghan citizens were spotted by SPF Turnu border guards along with police officers from Pecica City Police when they acted illegally at the green border.

At the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, a 46-year-old Turkish citizen showed up for the border formalities on the way out of the country. He was driving a German-branded Iveco minibus and was transporting metal parts to a Polish company according to the accompanying documents.

Based on a risk analysis, the border guards carried out a thorough control of the means of transport. Thus, 28 people were found hidden in the cargo compartment

During the preliminary checks, the border guards determined that the group consists of citizens from Iraq and Syria, twenty-five adults and three minors , aged between 15 and 43 years. They said they wanted to reach Western Europe.

In this case, border guards conducting research for committing the crime of trafficking in migrants driver and attempt of illegal crossing of the state border to foreign nationals upon completion will be arranged legal measures are taken.

The border policemen from the Turnu Border Police Sector, Arad County, in cooperation with the policemen from the Pecica city police, also carried out an action on combating illegal migration. Thus, in the neighboring area of ​​the city of Pecica, they detained five people who were walking, towards the territory of Hungary.

The five foreign nationals were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the PF Turnu Sector, for research, where it was established that they are young people from Afghanistan aged between 17 and 26 years. They said they wanted to reach Western Europe.

In this case, too, the border police officers are conducting investigations under the aspect of committing the crime of attempting to cross the state border illegally, and the necessary legal measures will be ordered upon completion.
