48,754 illegal perfumes seized in Istanbul

In the operation carried out by the Customs Enforcement Teams of the Ministry of Commerce in the Istanbul Muratbey Customs Field, 48,754 illegal perfumes were seized, worth approximately 10 million liras.

As a result of the analysis made by the Customs Enforcement teams regarding a truck that was declared carrying wet wipes in the Muratbey Customs Site, it was decided that the vehicle was considered to be deceptive and to be checked. The truck, with suspicious density as a result of the X-ray scan, was opened and searched.

In the search carried out, the parts corresponding to the outer walls of the trailer of the truck were filled with wet wipes in accordance with the declaration; however, it was found that the interior was completely filled with perfume.

As a result of the operation carried out thanks to the attention of the Istanbul Customs Guard, Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams, 48,754 smuggled perfumes, worth approximately 10 million lira, were seized.
