5 Tons of Cigarettes Seized Smuggled fro Eastern Europe
The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, has executed, between the provinces of Naples, Caserta, Florence and Ravenna, an order issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, which ordered, at the outcome of articulated investigations coordinated by District Anti-Mafia Directorate, precautionary measures against 13 suspects, suspects of criminal association involved in smuggling cigarettes from Eastern Europe.
Four subjects under house arrest and 9 the obligations of presentation to the judicial police; to these are added another 6 people against whom the notice of the conclusion of the investigations was notified. The suspects are in various capacities responsible for the introduction, sale, transport, purchase and possession of foreign manufactured tobaccos in the Campania region.
At the same time as the personal precautionary measures, the Fiamme Gialle, upon the outcome of the economic and patrimonial assessments, also proceeded to the execution of the seizures of shares of 3 companies, due to the disproportion between the income regularly received and declared and the real standard of living . The investigative activities, also of a technical nature, were conducted by the financiers of the Compagnia di Pozzuoli and have allowed to document the existence of 5 criminal structures operating permanently and in association in the Municipalities of Quarto, Marano, Melito di Napoli, Mugnano and in the Rione Sanità of the Neapolitan capital.
During the investigations, which lasted over 2 years, a total of 4 house arrest were carried out, 11 in the act of crime, 40 perpetrators reported and about 5 tons of foreign tobacco products seized, 12 vehicles and 13 garages and boxes.
