A large amount of narcotic substances was seized during a special operation by criminal investigators from the Ministry of Interior

The specialized police operation for counteracting the possession and distribution of narcotic substances was carried out on July 7 on the territory of ODMVR – Varna, after a five-month observation of ten. In the course of the police actions, searches were carried out at eight addresses in the regional town and in the village of Dabravino, municipality of Avren, as well as four cars. The following were seized: marijuana; methamphetamine; amphetamine derivatives; cocaine; lysergic acid; ecstasy; morphine; heroin and diacetylmorphine. 3 boxes containing a total of 11,800 pieces of contraband cigarettes, scales, money, etc. were found.

Ten people were detained in police custody for up to 24 hours. By a prosecutor’s decree, four of them – two 35-year-olds, one of whom was convicted, a 33-year-old man and another – 57 years old, were brought in as defendants under Art. 354a of the Penal Code and by a decree of the supervising prosecutor were detained for a period of up to 72 hours. The District Court in Varna approved the request of the prosecutor’s office and imposed a measure of restraint “detention in custody” on the accused.
