Afghans found hidden in a road transporting beer, found by Romania Border Guards

Seven Afghan citizens, hidden in a roadside packed with beer cans, were spotted by border guards at the Nadlac I Border Crossing Point as they tried to cross the border into Hungary illegally.

At the Nădlac I Border Crossing Point, a 38-year-old Romanian citizen driving a road ensemble showed up for the border formalities on the way out of the country. consisting of tractor and semi-trailer, both registered in Romania. The driver transported, according to the documents accompanying the goods, beer cans on the route Romania – Hungary.

Following the thorough control of the means of transport, seven foreign citizens were discovered inside the cargo compartment, hidden among the transported goods .

The persons were taken over and transported to the headquarters of the PF Nădlac Sector, for research.

During the preliminary checks, the border police established that they are citizens of Afghanistan, two young people aged 18 and five minors aged between 13 and 17, asylum seekers in Romania, who intended to reach Western Europe.

The border policemen carry out investigations under the aspect of committing the crimes of trafficking in migrants for the driver and of attempting to illegally cross the state border against foreign citizens, at the end of which the necessary legal measures will be ordered.
