Algerian citizen arrested for terrorism

An Algerian citizen arrested for participation, with the aim of international terrorism, in the ISIS / DAESH association.

The investigations, carried out both with environmental interceptions in the Bari Prison, and with the analysis of the telephone seized from the man, and thanks to the Coordination of Eurojust, which coordinated and facilitated international cooperation with the French and Belgian authorities, allowed to document his participation in the terrorist organization ISIS and his direct support activities for the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks of the Bataclan theater, Stade de France and those concentrated in the 1st, 10th and 11th arrondissements of Paris on 13 November 2015.

The investigative activity was conducted by the DIGOS – Anti-terrorism Section – of the Bari police headquarters, supported by staff from the Service for the Contrast of Extremism and External Terrorism of the Central Directorate of the Prevention Police, as part of the monitoring of guests of the Bari-Palese Repatriation Stay Center.

Furthermore, during his stay at the CPR in Bari, the Algerian was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for the crimes of use, possession and manufacture of false documents.

The foreigner, coming from the CPR of Turin and already the recipient of the expulsion order of the prefect of Milan, was arrested in the Lombard capital for crimes against property; the man was also reported in Schengen and Interpol by the British and French authorities for “activities related to terrorism”.
