An illegal tobacco factory was closed in the Polish Mazowieckie Voivodeship

Over 12 tons of raw tobacco and smoking tobacco and 26,000 tons were secured. cigarettes without excise stamps.

Officers of the Bug River Border Guard Unit, acting jointly with the Kujawsko-Pomorskie National Tax Administration, liquidated the place of illegal storage, processing and packaging of tobacco in the Mazowieckie voivodship.

Nearly 11 tons of raw tobacco, over 1,300 kg of smoking tobacco, and 26,000 cigarette pieces and a tobacco cutting machine. During the joint action, 4 cars used for transporting tobacco were also secured and 6 people involved in illegal activities were detained. It is estimated that if tobacco and cigarettes were to enter the market, the State Treasury’s losses due to unpaid taxes would amount to PLN 7.5 million.

The investigation in the case is conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zamość.
