Bad luck on Sunday for two cigarette smugglers

Following the activities carried out, the border policemen stopped in traffic, on the Vîrfu Câmpului-Dorohoi communication, a car registered in Romania, in which there were two persons, Romanian citizens.

As there were suspicions about the nature of the goods transported by the two, the border guards drove the people and the car to the headquarters of the sector for a thorough control.

As a result of a search, cigarettes of non-Community origin were discovered, concealed in the spare wheel, the engine compartment, the gearbox, the glovebox, as well as in the personal luggage .

The inventory resulted in a total quantity of 15,960 cigarettes, with a value of 8,000 lei, which was seized. Citizens claimed that the cigarettes were purchased from a person unknown for their own consumption.
