Bangladesh new eGates at the capital’s airport, featuring Cognitec’s face recognition technology
The airport currently uses 12 eGates at the departure terminal and three eGates at the arrival terminal. Veridos will install 28 eGates at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and 22 eGates at other international border check points.
The eGates include Cognitec’s FaceVACS-Entry VS product, which combines smart hardware for image acquisition with highly accurate face recognition software for verification processes. The technology allows travelers to complete self-service border control procedures in a few seconds.

The installation of automated border control gates is connected to a Veridos contract for the implementation of Bangladesh’s next-generation electronic passport infrastructure, with Cognitec as the face recognition supplier.
