The six immigrants were found when a Man truck carrying aircraft arrived at the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint to enter from Greece. Border police officers reported an increase in carbon dioxide levels in the cargo area with a gas analyzer.
An additional X-ray inspection of the car was carried out, during which the six hidden men were identified. They were undocumented, five of whom identified themselves as Algerian nationals and one as Moroccan. They stated that they hid in the trailer on Turkish territory, cutting the tarpaulin at the top, without the driver’s knowledge
