Dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to trafficking hashish and seized 630 kilos of narcotic substance

Agents of the Spanish National Police and the Civil Guard, in a joint operation, have dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to the trafficking of hashish and have intervened 630 kilos of narcotic substance. There are 28 people detained in Galicia, Malaga and Almería, for their alleged involvement in various operations related to drug trafficking. The agents have intervened 330 kilos of hashish hidden in a truck and another 300 kilos in a yacht that was used by the organization to import hashish to Almería.

The investigations date back to the end of 2019, when the agents were investigating the illicit activities to which, allegedly, a criminal organization led by a historic Galician drug trafficker from a region of Pontevedra was engaged. These first steps made it possible to identify a group of people who provided logistical support from Almería, Cádiz and Málaga. In addition, this investigation crossed with another, carried out by the Civil Guard, on the same individuals and activities. For this reason, from this moment on, the agents continued to investigate together. They immediately identified a yacht, allegedly used by the organization to transport hashish to Almería, an industrial warehouse in Los Barrios (Cádiz),

At the end of last June, and thanks to the controls established for this purpose, the investigators detected that the aforementioned truck boarded a ferry bound for Ceuta. Likewise, the police efforts revealed that the purpose of said trip was to transport a significant, but undetermined, quantity of hashish. Three days later, the Civil Guard of Ceuta reported that they had found around 330 kilos of hashish hidden in a place (manufactured for this purpose) in the truck’s loading area. In addition, they also detained the driver, who had already been identified by the National Police for being a prominent member of the organization under investigation.

Later, in February of this year, the agents located a yacht loaded with 300 kilos of hashish. Furthermore, at the time of the collision it was occupied by two individuals, members of the organization, who were also arrested.

Once the main members of the organization were arrested, the investigators identified and located the rest of the people involved in the aborted drug trafficking operations. In this sense, the agents arrested 28 people in Galicia, Malaga and Almería, completely dismantling the criminal network investigated. In addition, as a result of the investigation, 42,000 euros in cash, three vehicles, a boat and numerous telephone materials also intervened.

On the other hand, the investigation has revealed that the organization had lost the trust of the suppliers and that it was beset by debts, although they still had a high-speed boat capable of traveling to Morocco to carry out a new load.
