Officers from the Bug River Border Guard Unit prevented illegal tobacco products smuggled across the border from entering the circulation, this time “by air”. This is the result of joint actions of Polish and Ukrainian border services.
On the night of November 15/16, officers from the outpost in Dorohusk noticed a drone flying from the east. The unmanned aerial vehicle had hanging packages that had been dropped near the border. Then the drone flew out of the territory of our country. Thanks to observation devices and in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Border Guard officers constantly monitored the flight route.
The Border Guard officers efficiently reached the places where the packages were dropped. They contained over 71,000 smuggled cigarettes without Polish excise stamps, with an estimated value of over 53,000. zloty.
