EASO & eu-LISA Sign Cooperation Plan on Border, Migration and Asylum Management

The European Asylum Support Office and the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Field of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) have signed a multi-annual Cooperation Plan, within the framework of the formal Working Arrangement effective since 2014.

As the main purpose of the Working Arrangement is for the agencies to support each other in all common fields, the three-year Cooperation Plan will enable them both to collaborate in fields of border and asylum management as well as internal security for Europe and its citizens, until 2022.

According to a press release of the eu-LISA, the principal areas of cooperation foreseen by the newly signed plan will be areas as border migration and asylum management, which are of vital importance to both agencies.

Transversal or horizontal services such as Research and Development, Business Continuity, Data Protection and Communication are all foreseen as domains in which the agencies can provide one another with advice on best practices and support,” the press release of the eu-LISA explains.
