Five foreign citizens without the right to travel in the Schengen area detected by border police

Border police officers from the Nădlac Border Police Sector, together with police officers from the A1 Highway Police Office, carried out random and unsystematic checks on the A1 highway. On this occasion, a car registered in Poland and driven by a Romanian citizen was stopped for inspection.

Following the inspection of the vehicle, five men were found traveling with the driver, one of whom was a Romanian citizen and four others were foreigners, the latter without travel documents. Also, another foreign citizen was discovered in the trunk of the vehicle, also without travel documents.

The individuals were taken over and transported to the sector headquarters for checks where, following these checks, the border police determined that they were citizens of Syria, Iraq and Turkey, aged between 22 and 27.

Considering the issues found, the border police have launched investigations into the commission of migrant smuggling crimes for Romanian citizens and attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border for foreign citizens, with the necessary legal measures to be taken upon their completion.
