Forty-four migrants hidden in trucks, found by Arad border police

At Romania’s Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, a Bulgarian and a Romanian citizen, driving a truck, showed up to carry out the border formalities on the way out of the country. According to the documents accompanying the goods, the drivers were carrying cardboard boxes and refrigerators for companies in Germany and France.

Thirteen foreign nationals were discovered, hidden in the cargo compartments, following a thorough control of the means of transport .

The people were taken and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following the verifications, the border police established that they are citizens of Afghanistan, aged between 13 and 26, most of them asylum seekers in Romania.

Also, at the Vărșand Border Crossing Point, the border police officers carried out a detailed check on four trucks driven by two Romanian citizens and two Bulgarian citizens, which were loaded with different goods (car parts, aluminum foil, textiles) for different companies from Germany, England and Belgium. Following the control, thirty-one foreign nationals were discovered hidden in the cargo compartment . During the preliminary checks, the border guards established that the citizens come from different states (Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Sudan) and are between 15 and 44 years old, most of them asylum seekers in our country.
