Four people arrested for high-risk drug trafficking
On April 9, 2025, prosecutors of the Romanian Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism Crimes – Satu Mare Territorial Office ordered the detention of 4 defendants (two men and two women), aged between 26 and 40, investigated for committing the crimes of international high-risk drug trafficking and domestic high-risk drug trafficking.
Two of these people were caught red-handed while introducing into Romanian territory, through the former Valea lui Mihai TFP, the quantity of approximately 2.5 kilograms of 2MMC substance (high-risk drug), intended for commercialization.
The prohibited substance, packaged in 7 plastic bags, was found in the car in which the defendants were traveling, while the defendants were in another vehicle acting as forerunners. Also, a small bag containing approximately 10 grams of cocaine was found on the 37-year-old defendant, hidden in her underwear.
