Frontex issues call for proposals to support the implementation of the Basic Training Programme for the European Border and Coast Guard Standing Corps Category 1

As part of our efforts to establish the European Border and Coast Guard standing corps, Frontex has issued a call to EU Member States and Schengen-Associated Countries to apply for funding to support the implementation of the contact learning phase of the Basic Training Programme.

Due to restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Basic Training Programme for the EBCG Standing Corps Category 1 had to be temporarily redesigned by transforming the first three months of the training content into an online environment format. Therefore, the first group of recruits is currently being trained in a separate online learning phase. The remaining three months (contact learning phase) of training will need to take place in a training institution(s). Therefore, Frontex is launching this call for proposals.
