Iranian citizen pre-arrested for migrant smuggling
Border police officers from the Giurgiu Border Police Sector, while on duty on the DN 5, stopped a car registered in Greece for inspection. The vehicle was driven by a 33-year-old Iranian citizen, with four male passengers aged between 19 and 40.
During the check, the passengers presented passports issued by the authorities in Spain and Italy. After checking the documents, the border guards found that the passports presented did not meet the formal and substantive requirements of authentic ones, being fake.
Given the findings, the foreign citizens were handed over to the Bulgarian border authorities.
In this case, the border police have drawn up a criminal case for committing the crimes of material forgery in official documents and use of forgery, and upon completion of the investigations, the necessary legal measures will be ordered.
