Members of Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with ITA BiH, seized 37 kg of narcotic drug marijuana

Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Indirect Taxation Authority, discovered a large amount of narcotics in a freight motor vehicle at the entrance to BiH at Border Crossing Point Deleuša.

During a detailed search, 35 packages containing 37 kilograms of the narcotic drug marijuana and one smaller package with an imprinted image in the material, which with its appearance and smell is associated with the narcotic drug hashish, were found. The value of seized psychoactive substances on the street market of Bosnia and Herzegovina is around BAM 225 000.

The truck was driven by a BiH citizen Š. E. On the grounds for suspicion that criminal offence of ‘Illegal Traffic in Drugs’, under Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH, the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH as well as the pre-trial judge of the Court of BiH were notified. The person was apprehended and will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH during the day.

The Director of BP BiH, Zoran Galić, praised the work of members of Border Police Unit Trebinje who, despite the difficult working conditions lately, have achieved significant results in preventing all forms of crime. ‘This is one more in a series of successful actions of members of Border Police Unit Trebinje in the fight against cross-border crime, I would like to thank them for their maximum engagement in protecting the state border, as well as the Indirect Taxation Authority and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, with which we successfully cooperate’, said Galić.
