Nigerian man tried to smuggle more than 810 grams of cocaine and 66 grams of heroin into his own body

Employees of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) apprehended a passenger who was trying to smuggle almost one kilogram of drugs into Hungary at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport.

The Nigerian man tried to smuggle more than 810 grams of cocaine and 66 grams of heroin into his own body in Hungary, but NAV airport staff suspected the man’s behaviour, so a CT scan was performed.

The passenger came from Madrid through the green corridor. The financiers certified and then inspected his package and clothes. Although no drug suspects were found at the time, an X-ray from Semmelweis University showed that there were roughly half a hundred foreign bodies in the passenger’s stomach. The contents of the capsules were tested for drugs that showed cocaine and heroin.

The financiers filed a complaint against the passenger with the investigators of the Airport Police Directorate on the basis of a well-founded suspicion of committing a criminal offense of possession of drugs.
