On the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, border guards used weapons on an unmanned motorized paraglider

On the night of June 29, in the area of ​​the village of Subbotniki, Ivye District, a border guard unit found an aircraft flying near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border at an altitude of about 100 meters. During the pursuit, the border guards repeatedly used illuminating cartridges.

This made it possible to determine the fact that the aircraft was remotely controlled. In order to prevent violations of the use of the airspace of the Republic of Belarus, the military took all measures to force the landing of an unmanned motorized paraglider, including fire from service weapons. 

Preliminary inspection points to the handicraft of the structure, and remote control points to the possibility of using the aircraft to illegally move both inventory and other hazardous goods across the border.

At present, verification activities are being carried out, the circle of persons involved in the violation of the use of the airspace of the Republic of Belarus is being established.

The State Border Committee warns that the use of aircraft in the border strip is prohibited, and border guards have the right to use weapons to prevent violations of the state border of the Republic of Belarus.
