Polish Border Guards seize counterfeit clothing and perfumes

At the commodity and car exchange in Gorzów Wielkopolski, officers from the local Border Guard Post and the City Police Headquarters revealed and secured counterfeit clothing of famous global brands and perfumes of unknown origin. The total value of the seized goods was estimated at almost PLN half a million.

Border Guard and Police officers from Gorzów Wielkopolski detained two Bulgarian citizens who offered clothes and perfumed waters with counterfeit trademarks of well-known global brands at their stand.

The value of 1,159 items of secured garments (trousers, T-shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, belts, jackets, underwear) and 279 pieces of eau de parfum of various brands were estimated at PLN 400,000. The disclosed goods were secured and ended up in the police warehouse.

In this case, preparatory proceedings have been initiated, conducted by policemen from the City Police Headquarters in Gorzów Wielkopolski. Foreigners, aged 20 and 43, were interviewed and heard allegations of trading in goods bearing counterfeit trademarks. In the light of the applicable regulations, they may be imprisoned for up to 2 years, and up to 5 years if this practice was their main source of income.
