Romanian Border Police Detect 14 citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan origin

Following actions carried out by Romania Arad border police on the line of illegal migration, 14 citizens from Afghanistan and Pakistan were detected, who intended to cross the border illegally in Hungary.

At the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, a Turkish citizen presented himself on the way out of the country, at the wheel of a road complex, registered in Turkey. He signaled to the border police that, while waiting in line for the border formalities, he heard noises from the car semi-trailer.

The border police carried out a thorough control of the means of transport, after which they discovered, hidden in the cargo compartment, eight people. During the preliminary checks, the border police established that they are citizens of Afghanistan, two adults and six minors, aged between 14 and 22, all of whom are asylum seekers in Romania.

The border guards from the Nădlac Border Police Sector noticed, about 100 meters from the border line with the neighboring state, three people walking towards the territory of Hungary. Half an hour later, in the same direction, another crew of Arad border guards found three other people trying to cross illegally about 150 meters from the border with Hungary.

The six foreign nationals were immediately picked up and transported to the sector’s headquarters, and preliminary checks determined that they were citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan, five adults aged between 18 and 29, and a minor aged 17. years.

In both cases, the border guards carry out investigations in terms of committing crimes of attempting to cross the state border illegally for foreign nationals, and the necessary legal measures will be ordered upon completion.
