Romanian border police detect 42 foreign citizens intending to cross illegally into Hungary

Romanian border guards at Bihor and Arad found, following actions carried out on the line of illegal migration, 42 citizens from Palestine, Syria and Afghanistan, who intended to cross the border illegally in Hungary.

The border police officers from the Valea lui Mihai Border Police Sector carried out an action to combat illegal migration in the area of ​​competence.

Thus, in the area of ​​Șimian locality – Bihor county, a van registered in Romania was stopped for control. The border police officers opened and checked the vehicle, discovering 27 foreign nationals inside it .

Immediately, the persons in question were taken over and transported to the headquarters of the PF Valea lui Mihai Sector, for investigations. During the preliminary checks, the border guards determined that 21 adults, aged between 20 and 40, and 6 minors, aged between 8 and 16, are citizens of Syria and Palestine, respectively. The people said they wanted to reach Western Europe.

Following a notification the border police officers from the Vărşand Border Police Sector, Arad County, carried out the detailed control over a road complex, led by a Romanian citizen. The driver transported, according to the documents accompanying the goods, veneer on the route Romania – France. Thus, inside the cargo compartment were discovered, hidden among the transported goods, six foreign citizens. During the preliminary checks, the border police established that the persons in question are from Afghanistan and are between 18 and 29 years old, all of whom are asylum seekers in Romania.

At the same border point, another Romanian citizen showed up on the way out of the country, driving a road, transporting pallets for a company from Hungary.

Border guards discovered, hidden in the cargo compartment, four young people , citizens of Afghanistan aged between 17 and 21, asylum seekers in Romania.

Also, but at the Nădlac II – Csanadpalota Border Crossing Point, a Hungarian citizen showed up on the way out of the country, driving a road complex, registered in Hungary. The means of transport was loaded with packaging and the final destination was Hungary.

Following the thorough control of the means of transport, our colleagues discovered, hidden in the cargo compartment, five people. During the preliminary checks, it was established that the persons concerned are citizens of Afghanistan, aged between 14 and 24, asylum seekers in Romania.
