Six Afghans, supported by a Romanian citizen, were found on the border with Serbia

On 05.12.2021, the border guards from the Cruceni Border Police Sector carried out an action preventing and combating illegal migration in the area of competence. At around 06.00, they stopped for checks, within the border locality Giulvăz, Timiș County, a car driven by a Romanian citizen. As a result, they found inside six foreign nationals, all men.

The border guards took the foreign nationals and the driver to the headquarters of the institution for investigations, where they were epidemiologically sorted by the medical crew who arrived on the spot.

During the checks, it was established that the passengers are Afghan citizens aged between 18 and 22 and have illegally crossed the border from Serbia to Romania, on foot, on the green border. The driver of the car, a 51-year-old man, said he intended to help the six foreign nationals get to Timisoara.
