Spanish Civil Guard dismantles an organization that sent designer drugs in double toy funds

Spanish Civil Guard, in the so-called Operation Cargada, has dismantled a criminal organization specialized in the export of designer drugs to Colombia. The investigation culminated in the arrest of 10 people and the intervention of 7,665 grams of MDMA, 574 grams of pink cocaine “tusi” and 1,000 grams of cutting substances.

The start of the operation took place at the end of last year, when the Barajas Judicial Police agents, after studying the documentation, detected several parcel shipments from Madrid bound for Colombia containing toys for children. After several analyzes, they intercepted several shipments where they hid the ecstasy tablets in the wheels of the toys by means of a double bottom.

From this moment, the investigation began that has made it possible to unravel the web that the now detainees had woven, who took numerous security measures to avoid being identified and detained. Thus, in the first step, it was possible to identify several people, all of them of Colombian origin, who had numerous rented homes in the Community of Madrid and another single-family home in the province of Toledo.

In these houses they distributed drugs, mainly designer ones, and prepared shipments to South America, using fictitious names and addresses to avoid being identified. In the homes of the main defendants, there were people who were in charge of the custody of the house, preventing any person who was not known by the organization from entering the interior. During the operation, the agents discovered that they carried out shipments in high-end vehicles, which had double bottoms with sophisticated opening systems, some even with electronic codes to guarantee the delivery of the merchandise.

Once the members of the organization were located, the agents proceeded to arrest the 10 defendants, seven men and three women of Colombian and Dominican nationality, who are attributed crimes against public health (drug trafficking), falsification documentary, money laundering and membership in a criminal organization. In addition, 5 house searches have been made where more than 75,000 euros in cash have been located, banknote counting machines, cryptocurrency cards, precision scales, a large amount of substance for cutting and elements for the packaging and distribution of the drug. A taser pistol that they used to give themselves protection has even been intervened.

The operation has been carried out by the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Barajas and has had the collaboration of the Tres Cantos Research Area. The research has been developed in the Madrid towns of Arroyomolinos, Arganda del Rey, Villabilla and Rivas Vaciamadrid and in the Toledo town of Seseña.  The detainees were brought to justice, the competent authority decreeing the imprisonment of the five most responsible, the rest being released with charges.
