Spanish National Police intercepts a truck with more than 300 kilos of vacuum packed marijuana hidden inside refrigerated chests

National Police agents have arrested a 65-year-old Dutch citizen in Jerez de la Frontera as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. The detainee is the driver of a truck in whose semi-trailer he was transporting electrical appliances and hidden inside several chest-type freezers, numerous vacuum-packed packages were found containing a total of 322 kilos of marijuana.

The intervention began on the morning of last Friday, January 29, when in a control carried out by the Prevention and Reaction Unit on the occasion of the Jerez de la Frontera perimeter closure, a Romanian registration trailer was stopped from the Sanlúcar de Barrameda highway, which had carried out a series of maneuvers that were strange and suspicious to the agents. The members of the UPR supported by researchers from the UDYCO and the Canine Guides Unit carried out a search of the vehicle to discover if it was carrying any type of narcotic substance. In the search carried out, one of the dogs marked a refrigerator chest inside which several packages with vacuum-packed marijuana were discovered. After confirming the finding,  

Thus, and based on the incriminating evidence collected, the truck driver was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. The processing of the report corresponded to the UDYCO agents of the El Puerto de Santa María-Puerto Real Police Station and once the proceedings were completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number four on guard duty in Jerez de la Frontera, whose head, after hearing a statement from the detainee, decreed his entry into prison.
