The situation on the Polish-Belarusian border

From 17 to 19 June, officers from the Podlasie Border Guard Unit recorded a total of 47 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border.

On June 19, 21 foreigners illegally tried to cross the Polish-Belarusian border. The events took place on the sections protected by the Border Guard Posts in Narewka and Czeremsza. Among the detained foreigners there were, among others nationals of Morocco, Senegal, India and Turkey. In the section of the Border Guard Post in Dubicze Cerkiewne, Polish patrols noticed 6 Belarusian soldiers who tried to undermine the barrier.

On Saturday, June 18, 14 attempts to illegally cross the border were thwarted, which took place in sections of the official responsibility of the Border Guard outposts in Krynki, Czeremsza and Płaska. Illegal migrants came from: Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Turkey and Cameroon. On  Friday, June 17, 12 foreigners tried to enter Poland illegally. They were, among others citizens of: Syria, Yemen, Mauritania and Algeria. The incidents took place on the sections protected by the Border Guard Posts in Narewka, Białowieża, Czeremsza and Płaska. A group of 30 foreigners near the Border Guard Post in Białowieża approached the border line, but after the arrival of Polish patrols, they withdrew deeper into the territory of Belarus.

This year, the Border Guard recorded 5,780 attempts to illegally cross the border from Belarus to Poland, the most in March -1766, and in June as many as 387.
