Twenty migrants hidden in trucks found by border guards in the west of the country

A Bulgarian and a Romanian citizen, behind the wheel of a trucks registered in Bulgaria, showed up for border formalities on the way out of the country. According to the documents accompanying the goods, the drivers were carrying aluminum pallets and reels for companies in the Netherlands and Germany.

Eighteen foreign nationals were found hidden in the cargo compartments after carrying out a thorough inspection of the means of tyhe vehicle.

The persons were taken and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations where, following the verifications, the border police established that they are citizens of Pakistan and Afghanistan, asylum seekers in Romania.

On 05.01.2022, at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, a Bulgarian citizen who was transporting furniture for a Danish company, according to the accompanying documents, showed up to leave the country behind the wheel of a car dealership.
