U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector encountered 3,541 undocumented migrants from 39 different countries, Dec. 3-5.

Among the encounters, Eagle Pass Station Border Patrol agents arrested three large groups consisting of single adults, family units, and unaccompanied children.

On Dec. 3, agents encountered 113 migrants near Normandy. The group consisted of 110 migrants from Nicaragua and three from Honduras. Border Patrol agents then arrested 104 undocumented migrants near Eagle Pass. The group included eight unaccompanied migrant children, ranging from ages three to 13.

On Dec. 4, 198 migrants were arrested near Eagle Pass. The group was comprised of migrants from eight different countries.

“The large volume of illegal border crossers that we continue to experience puts a tremendous strain on our resources and reduces our ability to effectively patrol the border,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens. “Despite these overwhelming circumstances, our agents never waver and remain dedicated to the border security mission. I am truly proud of the great work they do each and every day to protect this nation.”
